When Things Don't Go As Planned

Hi Friends,
We’re a little over halfway through the first month of the new year, how are you feeling? If you set goals for yourself, how is it going so far?
I’ll be honest: my year hasn’t started quite the way I imagined it would.
Getting sick at the beginning of January really slowed me down. I had so many ideas and projects I was excited to dive into, and instead I had to press pause; especially on my Valentine’s Day collection. Now that I’m finally feeling better, I’m easing my way back into creating, even though some things are taking a bit longer than planned.
Because of that, the Valentine’s Day collection I originally hoped to release in early February needs a little more time. It will now be folded into what I had planned for spring instead. I promise it will be worth the wait. These scents and soaps feel extra special to me, some of the best I’ve ever made. I may have even discovered a new go-to scent that I never want to stop wearing.
Letting go of that original timeline wasn’t easy. I caught myself feeling like I had failed somehow for not sticking to the plan I set. At one point, I almost scrapped the collection entirely. But instead of giving up, I chose to release the pressure, adjust the plan, and keep moving forward.
I wanted to share this in case you’re feeling discouraged about where you “thought” you’d be by now. The timelines we set for ourselves don’t always unfold the way we expect and that doesn’t mean we’re doing anything wrong. We’re allowed to shift, reset, and soften as we learn and grow along the way.
If you need it, let this be your reminder that it’s okay to start again this week, gently and without judgment.
Wishing you a warm, steady week ahead.
