Hi friends,
Friday the 13th was a weird one, I woke up to snow on the ground and it snowed all throughout the day. I certainly didn’t expect it.
By this point in March I had mentally moved on to spring. I’ve been dreaming of longer days, fresh air, flowers starting to bloom, and the cozy transition into a new season. Snow was the last thing I expected to see.
But when I looked outside Friday morning and saw those soft flakes drifting down, everything felt strangely quiet and peaceful. The world slowed down for a moment. The light looked different. The day felt softer somehow.
And I realized something.
Sometimes the most beautiful moments arrive in ways we never planned for.
We spend so much time trying to control outcomes; planning our weeks, our goals, our timelines. I definitely do this. I like knowing what’s coming next and feeling like everything is on track.
But life has a funny way of sprinkling in little surprises.
Sometimes they’re inconvenient.
Sometimes they’re frustrating.
But sometimes they’re unexpectedly beautiful.
That quiet snowy morning felt like a reminder that not everything needs to unfold exactly as we imagined it.
There’s a kind of magic in allowing life to surprise us.
This week I’m trying to carry that thought with me, staying open to the small unexpected moments that might turn out to be better than what I had planned.
Maybe that looks like:
• Taking a slower morning than usual
• Saying yes to something spontaneous
• Letting go of a plan that isn’t working
Or simply noticing the beauty when something surprising happens.
Because sometimes the unexpected doesn’t ruin the plan…
Sometimes it makes it better.
When I started this newsletter, I wasn’t sure where it would lead, I just knew I wanted to create a cozy little space on Monday mornings where we could slow down together.
Now nearly a year later, it has grown into something that means so much to me. I’m so grateful you’re here reading these words each week.
