A Gentle Pause before the New Year

A Gentle Pause before the New Year

Hi Friends,

I hope you all had the most wonderful Christmas. The week after always feels like one big, collective exhale to me,  a quiet pause before the calendar turns and the world starts moving fast again. It’s a tender in-between space where we can slow down, breathe a little deeper, and softly begin thinking about what we want the next year to hold.

I’ve been wondering… what kind of New Year person are you?

Do you love setting resolutions? Choosing a word for the year? Or do you prefer stepping into January slowly, without the pressure of big goals or plans?

I think I’m a little bit of all of it. I enjoy setting intentions and dreaming about what I want to work towards, but I try to do it gently; with intention, not urgency.

One thing I did this year that felt especially meaningful was spending time reflecting on everything I accomplished over the past twelve months. It was surprisingly eye-opening to see just how much I created and moved through in one year. It felt grounding, encouraging, and really empowering.

If you’d like to try it too, it’s really simple: Grab a journal or a piece of paper and write out all twelve months of the year. Then take your time reflecting on what happened in each one;  big moments, small wins, quiet shifts. I used my photo app and social media posts to help jog my memory, and it made the process feel almost like flipping through a scrapbook.

Another practice I love is writing a letter to your future self; one that you open this same week next year. Write it as if the things you’re hoping for have already happened. I did this last year and read my letter just a few days ago. It was incredibly special to see what came true, what changed, and what gently evolved into something else.

If you try any of these reflections, I’d love to hear about it. And just know, I have so many beautiful things planned for the coming year. I can’t wait to share them with you very soon!

And if you’re craving romance, lace, and a little treat; my Valentine’s Day collection is on the horizon. Sign up for the waitlist here. Trust me, you won’t want to miss it.

Wishing you a soft, joyful, and peaceful start to the new year.
